Keep music playing in the background on iPhone
Dusktune has no account and no app to install — background listening works through Safari and the picture-in-picture window. It takes about ten seconds to set up.
The steps
- Open dusktune.com in Safari and start a song.
- Tap the fullscreen icon in the player, then swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
- The video shrinks to a small floating window and the audio keeps playing. You can now use other apps.
- If the floating window distracts you, drag it to the edge of the screen to tuck it away — only a small tab stays visible, and the music keeps playing.
- Locking the phone works too: the audio continues, and the lock screen shows Previous and Next buttons for the queue.
What stops the music
Tapping the X on the floating window closes it — and the audio stops with it. Tuck it to the edge or lock the phone instead.
Use Safari, not the home-screen app
If you added Dusktune to your home screen, that version cannot play audio in the background on iOS — that is a limitation of the iPhone’s web view, not something Dusktune can work around. For background listening, always open the site in Safari itself.
On Android
Start a song, then press the Home button — the video shrinks to a floating window and keeps playing while you use other apps.
