Control Dusktune from your phone
Typing on a TV or car screen is awkward. Phone Remote turns your phone into the remote instead: search and pick songs on the phone, and they play on the screen.
The steps
- On the screen — the TV, laptop, or car — open Dusktune and tap Phone Remote in the menu. A QR code and a 6-character code appear. (In the car, the code appears on its own.)
- On your phone, scan the QR code with the camera, or open dusktune.com/connect and type in the 6-character code.
- The phone shows a search box and playback controls. Search for a song, tap it, and it plays on the screen. Play, pause, and Next all work from the phone.
- Leave the screen page open and browse as normal — the phone keeps working.
Good to know
- The code is random and expires after a few hours. Anyone who can read it can control playback until it expires, the same as holding the TV remote.
- If the remote goes quiet after a long idle stretch, tap the screen once to wake it up.
- Both the screen and the phone need an internet connection. The phone does not need to be on the same Wi-Fi network as the screen.
If the code doesn’t work
Codes expire, and a stale one will just sit there. On the screen, tap “Stop remote control” and then show the code again for a fresh one.
